 Humpback whale watching in Salinas

"Ecuador is one of the most amazing and impressive tour for whale watching in the world" Gregory Kaufman - President and Founder of Pacific Whale Foundation.

Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae), as they are called, migrate each year to the beginning of the polar winter, a journey of over 7000 km, from the cold Antarctic waters in the South Pole, where they live.

In his journey to survive, up to the tropical waters of the coast of Ecuador, where they stay during June, July, August and September, which allows significant energy savings that is used in reproduction, pregnancy and development of new offspring.

Can be seen along the coast by swimming between dives to the outstanding show of its dorsal fin base, hence its name humpback, and best of all, admire the spectacular game, jumps and stunts that are part of mating ritual of its kind.
